Whitefield firefighters assist West Pelzer FD with auto accident involving overturned fuel tanker

On November 4, Whitefield firefighters assisted West Pelzer FD with an auto accident involving an overturned tanker truck hauling approximately 8, 800 gallons of fuel.  Firefighters assisted with setting up a landing zone for the LifeFlight helicopter and provided manpower for the accident scene.  Engine 22 and Rescue 22 responded along with several HazMat units.

Whitefield firefighters assist Cheddar FD with overturned fuel tanker

On July 9, Whitefield FD was dispatched to assist Cheddar FD with an overturned fuel tanker on Highway 20 @ Boiter Rd.  Whitefield, along with responders from Friendship, Rock Springs, West Pelzer, Belton and Williamston fire stations  provided manpower and water supply while HazMat technicians worked to control fuel leaks from the tanker.

Highway 29 North Auto Accident

Whitefield firefighters were dispatched to an auto accident at the intersection of Dorchester Rd and Highway 29 N on February 2.  Three vehicles were involved in the accident, and extrication was necessary to free patients from the vehicles.  Firefighters also landed LifeFlight helicopter nearby at the fire station to transport one of the injured to a local hospital.  More information is available here.
