On June 29, Whitefield FD was dispatched to a structure fire on Highway 29 North. Heavy fire was observed by first arriving units, and additional units were requested. West Pelzer FD, Broadway FD, Cheddar FD, Hopewell FD, Rock Springs FD, Williamston FD, SC Forestry and Williamston EMS assisted in extinguishing the fire in outdoor temperatures of over 100 degrees.

Phyllis Drive Structure Fire
On March 24, Engine 22 and Tanker 22 were dispatched to assist Broadway FD with a residential structure fire on Phyllis Drive. Units arrived on scene to find a fully-involved structure fire, which required several hours to extinguish.
Firefighters respond to MVA on Highway 29 North
Joe Black Rd Structure Fire
On March 20, Whitefield firefighters assisted West Pelzer FD with a mobile home fire on Joe Black Rd. A smoke detector alerted the occupant, allowing her to escape the fire uninjured. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
Firefighters assist on Hillview Circle structure fire
On March 18, Engine 22 and Tanker 22 were dispatched to assist Broadway FD with a residential structure fire on Hillview Circle. Units arrived on scene to find flames through the roof, but were able to quickly knock down the fire, containing it to the kitchen.
Downed power line sparks one-acre woods fire
On March 17, Engine 22 and Brush 22 responded to a report of a downed power line on Opt Rd. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a woods fire stretching alongside a majority of the short road that connects Old Williamston Rd to Highway 29 North. Additional units from Whitefield and Broadway fire departments, along with SC Forestry were dispatched to assist with exposure protection of several nearby residences and to provide additional manpower to extinguish the fire.

Highway 29 North Auto Accident
Whitefield firefighters were dispatched to an auto accident at the intersection of Dorchester Rd and Highway 29 N on February 2. Three vehicles were involved in the accident, and extrication was necessary to free patients from the vehicles. Firefighters also landed LifeFlight helicopter nearby at the fire station to transport one of the injured to a local hospital. More information is available here.

Firefighters from Whitefield, Cheddar and Powdersville assisted West Pelzer FD in battling a fire at the old Pelzer train depot on January 26. More information is available here.
Whitefield firefighters assist with mobile home fire on Carley Ct
West Pelzer and Whitefield FD’s responded to a mobile home fire on January 25. A deputy with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, who was on scene for a domestic situation, reported the fire that was quickly extinguished by firefighters.
