On October 12, Whitefield firefighters assisted West Pelzer FD with a pallet fire at a former mill. Firefighters from West Pelzer, Whitefield, Williamston, Powdersville and Cheddar worked for several hours to bring the fire under control.
Responding Units: Engine 6, Engine 6-1, Rescue 6, Tanker 6, Grass 6, Ladder 7, Engine 12, Rescue 12, Tanker 12, Engine 22, Engine 22-1, Williamston Engine 1 and Williamston Truck 4.
On June 1, Whitefield firefighters along with other area first responders were honored at Williamston’s ParkFest. Over three hundred motorcycles from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Defenders Motorcycle Club paraded through town at noon. Other responders at the festival included West Pelzer FD, Cheddar FD, Williamston’s FD, EMS and PD, Anderson County Emergency Services Command Post, Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Anderson County CERT, and the Salvation Army’s Disaster Relief unit.
On February 22, Whitefield FD was dispatched to a single-car auto accident on Pine Trail. Upon arrival, firefighters observed the vehicle wedged between two trees. Firefighters checked for hazards and assisted Williamston EMS with removal of the patient from the vehicle.
